AI can generate images in seconds.
But it still can’t tell if they’re any good.
I use AI actively in my work as a 3D artist—not as a replacement, but as a tool. One that can unlock new possibilities, speed up workflows, and add variation.
But it’s not a one-click solution. And it doesn’t stand on its own.
It still takes a trained eye to know when something actually works—and when it doesn’t. AI can miss on detail, consistency, and accurate product representation from CAD or manufacturer data. And getting lighting, materials, and form right still comes down to experience—even when AI is involved.
In this video, I’ve used AI to create three very different environments—all driven by the exact same camera move from my own 3D animation. For me, that’s where it gets interesting: combining the freedom of AI with the control of traditional 3D.
I’m fundamentally pragmatic:
I use whatever delivers the best result.
Sometimes that’s pure 3D.
Sometimes it’s AI.
Sometimes it’s both.
The technology itself isn’t the point—what it enables is.
AI is evolving fast. It’s going to play a major role in professional workflows. The interesting part is not whether to use it—but how.
